Ibrahim Maalouf, a French-Lebanese trumpet player and composer, was destined for musical greatness. The son of trumpeter Nassim Maalouf and pianist Nada Maalouf, Ibrahim started studying the trumpet at the young age of seven. His father invented the “quarter tone trumpet”, which allows one to accurately play the melodies of traditional Arab music. It is he who Ibrahim trained under, learning not only Arabic trumpeting, but also classical, baroque, modern, and contemporary techniques. He also played as a duo with his father from the age of nine into his teen years.
Last week Xerox announced a new feature that will allow translation of documents with the push of a button. Easy Translator Service works with ConnectKey enabled multifunction printers. Xerox also offers the service on both IOS and Android devices for mobile users.
The Dosti Music Project is collaboration of musicians from India, Pakistan and the United States. The project was formed by the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan in an effort to unite people through music. Dosti means “friendship” in both Urdu and Hindi.
